About Boxgrove Village Hall
It took 10 years of fund raising and hard work for award winning fundraisers Doreen Johnstone and Vera Quinton and their team to accrue enough money to build a hall anybody would be proud of.
The village hall was officially opened in December 2010 by the Duke and Duchess of Richmond and Gordon, who are great supporters of local charities.
Funding from the Big Lottery Fund and grants obtained from West Sussex County Council and Chichester District Council helped towards the build costs.
Local and large businesses in the area also helped generously towards the fundraising effort.
However the ongoing generosity of the villagers and families of Boxgrove, Halnaker, Strettington and Crockerhill, along with the surrounding area, has been an amazing triumph for them and something that all involved should be very proud of.
Boxgrove Village Hall is not just a hall; it demonstrates what can be achieved when Government, Commerce and Community come together led by a very determined team of residents.
Our hall is a multi-functional venue able to host weddings, meetings. AGM. luncheons, workshops and even an 8ft Easter bunny on our Easter fun day. We have many parties for all ages and other celebrations and functions.
The large Hall has a drop down screen, overhead projector, DVD player, mics that feed through the PA system and also a plug in an play system that works with handheld devices, to enable music to be played through the system.
We have hosted many meetings from workshops to strategy and AGMs. We can provide a setting up and clearing up service if you don’t want or do it yourself. It is up to you.
We have a drop down large screen plus an overhead projector that is incredibly easy to set up, plug in and play. The picture is amazing quality in daylight as well as night. We have Wifi throughout the building, and a local village cafe that can provide lunch to the hall for you or provide your own. The automatic fill and thermostatically controlled water urn will give constant hot water for drinks throughout the day.
Back room office services can be utilised should you require it.
During the breaks you can indulge in private conversation whilst having a walk around the four acre field next to the hall or perhaps have games if you are team building.
Do you want your wedding to be in a stunning venue in an outstanding area of natural beauty? Our hall is perfectly placed in the countryside but close enough to the A27 making it an ideal location. We are a do-it yourself charity run village hall with the wedding party creating the wedding day to how they want it to be. We offer flexibility and choice with experienced professional staff to help, advise and support you as and when you need.
The wedding package is from 4pm before celebration day to noon AFTER the celebration day for the exclusive private use of the whole building excluding office and some storage areas. The terraced area with picnic tables are included in the cost. We have a great range of facilities and plenty of space to cater for a sit down wedding meal, formal or informal to suit your preferences. Have a great party afterwards with a band or DJ playing the music of your choice. We never forget it is your day and your choice.
The imagination, the bride and bridesmaids, the fun, the romance. We are proud that our village hall offers a stunning setting for such an important day. We hire the hall out for the wedding celebration only although many weddings have had an informal Vow ceremony it is not a legal service but more a blessing as we are not a licensed venue.
